We are seeking a skilled
Fire Alarm Technician
to join our Worcester, MA
, team. The technician will install, program, inspect, and service fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. In this role, you will ensure that every system meets applicable codes and standards while delivering the responsive, customer-first service that defines Cogswell Sprinkler.
- Install and program fire alarm systems, including panels, sensors, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure proper operation.
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to identify and resolve any issues or potential problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire alarm systems and components.
- Ensure all fire alarm systems meet relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Provide excellent service to customers, answering any questions and addressing concerns about fire safety.
- Respond to emergency service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Must hold a valid Fire Alarm Technician license as required by the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in fire alarm systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient with hand and power tools used in the trade.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- May work in various environments, including offices, schools, hotels, and industrial sites.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Exposure to the elements when working outdoors and to dust and noise in construction and industrial settings.
The wage for this role is$25 to $40 per hour
, based on experience and qualifications.
