Position: Lead Carpenter Reports To: Production Manager
Type: Full-Time Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (half-hour unpaid lunch)
About the RoleThe Lead Carpenter is responsible for successfully managing the job site, which includes being on time, staying on budget, and maintaining a high level of quality. In addition to being an excellent framing and finishing carpenter, the ideal candidate demonstrates good judgment, high ethical standards, strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to work independently.
The ideal Lead Carpenter is assertive, organized, and considerate to all co-workers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. High performance and customer service are J.E.P. Contracting’s standards, and are expected of all employees.
- 5–10 years of documented experience with extensive knowledge of all aspects of remodeling
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Professional appearance
- Ability to read architectural drawings
- Must have and maintain a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL)
- 10 hours of OSHA safety training
- RRP Certification
- Basic computer skills (email, ability to learn cloud-based software such as Job Tread)
