Location: Queens
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise street outreach teams, ensuring continuous field coverage and adherence to program contracts.
- Create and manage shift schedules, covering callouts, vacations, and vacancies to maintain staffing levels.
- Conduct structured supervision meetings; provide performance management, guidance, and oversight to direct reports.
- Apply Harm Reduction and Housing First approaches during street outreach, assess individuals, and provide appropriate placement options and referrals.
- Oversee canvassing activities, incorporating feedback from the team, community, DHS, and historical 311 data.
- Promote effective outreach strategies grounded in Housing First, Harm Reduction, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma‑informed care models.
- Ensure compliance with DHS contractual requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal guidelines; maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and referrals.
- Support staff in managing difficult situations, including conflict de‑escalation, and prepare 9.58 involuntary removal documentation.
- Serve as a liaison with community partners, intergovernmental stakeholders, DHS staff, and others to respond to emergent concerns and 311 calls.
- Participate in Code Blue/Red alerts, providing clinical leadership during challenging situations.
- Attend community partner meetings and provide on‑call coverage as needed for the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position is primarily a day‑shift role with a 35‑hour work week and includes on‑call responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications- NYS Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) required.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
- Obtain 9.58 credentialing within the first 3 months of hire.
- Understanding of Housing First, client‑centered motivational interviewing, Harm Reduction models, and behavioral and medical health systems.
- Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and incident management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Strong collaborative skills; ability to work successfully with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented with strong team‑task management capabilities.
- Excellent scheduling skills.
- Valid NY, NJ, CT, or PA driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
