Duties
  • Provide individual and small-group counseling to address students' academic, social emotional, behavioral, and career development needs.
  • Conduct student assessments to identify barriers to learning and develop intervention plans.
  • Assist students in developing academic goals, graduation plans, credit recovery plans, and post-secondary plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community agencies to support student success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, student support meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or personal crises.
Qualifications
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor endorsement.
  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working with at-risk, alternative education, or diverse student populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, crisis intervention, and behavior support strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable federal and state laws regarding student records.
Salary/Benefits
  • Compensation: $45,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    , with unused personal days converting to sick leave. Eligible employees accrue up to 12 sick days and 2 personal days annually based on contract length.
