Family Support Counselor Wanted:

Pay: $27/Hour Your Toolkit Should Include:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Experience working with or providing services to children and families
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships
  • Acceptance of and respect for individual differences
  • Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families
  • Knowledge of infant and child development
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., introspection, self-awareness in relation to others, valuing supervision)
  • Infant mental health endorsement (preferred)
Our Superpowers Include:
  • Building long-term, trusting relationships with 15-20 families through regular in-home visits (1+ hour each)
  • Conducting needs assessments, screenings (ASQ, ASQ-SE, depression screens, FROG Scale), and eligibility evaluations
  • Developing individualized Family Service Plans and supporting families in setting and achieving goals
  • Connecting families to community resources, healthcare, housing, childcare, and crisis services
  • Delivering research-based education on child development, health, nutrition, and family functioning
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, contact logs, and database records per agency and funding requirements
  • Representing the program at community outreach events and agency collaboration meetings
  • Modeling a trauma-informed, strengths-based, empathetic approach - honoring diverse family structures and parenting practices
  • Participating in weekly team meetings and individual reflective supervision
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and exercising sound professional judgment at all times
