Montgomery County Department of Social Services is seeking a DSS Case Aide. This position works closely with all units of the agency, as well as foster families, community resources, and families and children receiving services from the department. This position will transport children to and from family visits between foster families and birth parents, and provider appointments. Oversees visits and interactions during supervised biological family visits and supervised trial home visits to ensure the safety of the children.
Accurate and timely entry of data into the state database for performance measures and statistical data. This position will provide information to the birth families to help them understand the foster care process, and may testify in court proceedings relative to any interactions with children and families. This position will work closely with the Child Protective Services Unit to assist with job functions, including removals due to abuse/neglect situations and finding appropriate placements as needed.
This position will assist with providing crisis intervention, training, and locating resources for children and families.
High school diploma or GED required. Preference for college or vocational school education in social work, child development, or a closely related field. Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record.
Salary range $35,267-$56,427; dependent on experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits (health, dental and vision, flex spending, life, disability, VRS retirement, 401 & 457 retirement options, onsite clinic, wellness programs, and much more).
