Fortune has grown steadily over the years into an agency with an annual budget of over $90 million and approximately 600 staff. We anticipate that we will continue to grow, both in size and in the depth of our services. Fortune has a dual mission: both advocacy and service. The advocacy portion of our mission focuses on building a more just criminal legal system and reducing the barriers to reentry into society.

The service side of Fortune has evolved to encompass a broad range of programs that started with employment and education and now includes a robust array of services, among them: alternatives to incarceration, supervised release, court advocacy, discharge planning within correctional facilities, licensed substance use and mental health treatment, a housing continuum ranging from emergency and transitional through permanent congregate and scattered site housing, assistance in obtaining benefits, a care management unit, HIV services, a food and nutrition program, and an arts program.

Each service we provide is informed by the needs of the population we serve. Fortune currently serves approximately 18,000 people a year. Our program models are recognized, both nationally and internationally, for their quality and innovation. We have locations in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens.

The Residential Aide Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the assigned shift, ensuring that Residential Aides complete required duties, maintain professional standards, and support a safe, secure, and respectful environment for residents, staff, and guests. This position provides direct supervision, coaching, scheduling support, training, performance feedback, and accountability for Residential Aide staff while coordinating with the Director of Residential Aide, Social Service staff, and program leadership.

The Residential Aide Shift Supervisor assists with onboarding and staff development, conducts regular supervision meetings, monitors attendance and work performance, supports corrective guidance when needed, and participates in six-month reviews and annual performance evaluations. The Residential Aide Supervisor leads by example by reporting to work on time, maintaining required uniform standards, assisting with coverage as needed, responding appropriately to emergencies, and ensuring timely communication across shifts.
