Behavioral Health Case Manager / Wellness Advocate

ABSS Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is seeking experienced Behavioral Health Case Managers / Wellness Advocates in anticipation of a potential contract award supporting members of the North Carolina National Guard and their families. This is an opportunity for a behavioral health or social services professional who enjoys working directly with people and within the community. Wellness Advocates help Service Members and their families navigate behavioral health, healthcare, financial, housing, and community resources while building relationships with military units and service providers throughout North Carolina.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, approachable, comfortable working independently, and passionate about helping individuals overcome barriers to accessing the support they need.

What You'll Do
  • Provide non-clinical case management and resource coordination for Service Members and their families.
  • Help individuals navigate VA, military, healthcare, behavioral health, social service, and community resources.
  • Connect Service Members and families with assistance involving housing, food, utilities, financial concerns, healthcare, and other quality-of-life needs.
  • Identify individuals who may require immediate behavioral health intervention and connect them with appropriate clinical resources.
  • Follow up with Service Members to help ensure successful connection to recommended services and continuity of support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with military, Veteran, state, local, nonprofit, and community organizations.
  • Participate in Yellow Ribbon, wellness, outreach, and other military community events.
  • Provide behavioral health and resource-awareness briefings to Service Members and military organizations.
  • Maintain accurate case-management documentation and required reports.
  • Travel throughout an assigned region to engage with National Guard units, Service Members, families, and community partners.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a behavioral health science or related field.
  • Experience providing case management, resource coordination, social services, behavioral health support, or community outreach.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and the ability to help individuals navigate multiple service systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within an assigned region of North Carolina with standard mileage reimbursement.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with Service Members, Veterans, military families, or military-connected communities.
  • Familiarity with National Guard or Reserve Component programs and military culture.
  • Experience with VA, Military One Source, Yellow Ribbon, Family Assistance, or similar military/Veteran support programs.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behavioral health, substance-use, financial, housing, employment, or other social-service needs.
  • Established knowledge of North Carolina community resources and service-provider networks.
  • Experience conducting outreach, briefings, or educational activities.
  • Experience working independently across multiple locations or within a geographically dispersed program.
Why ASI?

ASI has extensive experience supporting federal healthcare, behavioral health, social service, and military programs. Our professionals work alongside Government customers in mission-focused environments where their expertise has a direct impact on the people and communities they serve.

We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, professional support, and an organizational culture that values the expertise and contributions of our employees. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for Service Members and their families while building relationships throughout North Carolina's military and community support network.

Unlike a traditional desk-based case-management position, this role provides the opportunity to work directly within the military community. Wellness Advocates engage with Service Members and units throughout their assigned region, helping connect individuals with resources before challenges become crises. The PWS specifically describes these positions as mobile within armories and units rather than traditionally office-based.

This position is full-time and contingent upon contract award.
