Resident Counselor - Cherokee Children's Home

Employment: Full-Time & Part-Time Available
Schedule Needed: 3:30 PM-11:30 PM and Weekends
Department: Cherokee Children's Home

The Cherokee Children's Home is looking for caring, dependable Resident Counselors to provide supervision, support, and positive guidance to young people in a residential setting. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with youth and wants to make a meaningful difference.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and support residents during daily routines and activities.
• Serve as a positive role model and maintain appropriate boundaries.
• Assist with meals, schoolwork, chores, activities, and bedtime routines.
• Help residents develop independent living and everyday life skills.
• Plan recreational activities and opportunities.
• Administer medications and complete required documentation.
• Provide transportation for residents as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable cottage environment.
• Complete daily reports and logs.
• Work closely with other members of the Children’s Home team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
  .
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with no DUI or DWI convictions required.
• Ability to relate well to children and youth.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
  
  One year of residential care experience is preferred.

We especially need applicants who are available from 3:30 PM-11:30 PM and on weekends. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
