Lead UI Engineer

Lead the frontend engineering team in building modern, accessible, and performant interfaces for the ITS platform.

As Lead UI Engineer at ITS, you'll own the frontend architecture and lead a team of engineers building the tools that thousands of travel managers, corporate cardholders, and travelers use every day. You'll set technical direction, establish best practices, and drive the adoption of modern frameworks and design systems. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll write code, review pull requests, mentor engineers, and work closely with product and design to deliver world-class user experiences from our Dallas headquarters.

• 6+ years of professional frontend development experience
• Deep expertise in React, Type Script, and modern CSS (Tailwind, CSS-in-JS)
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
• Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+)
• Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and build tooling
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to code quality
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers across multiple product areas
• Define frontend architecture, patterns, and technical standards
• Build and maintain a shared component library and design system
• Write production-quality code in React and Type Script
• Conduct code reviews and drive engineering quality across the team
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on feature planning and delivery
• Evaluate and adopt new frontend technologies and tooling
• Contribute to hiring and growing the engineering team

• Experience with React Aria, Radix, or other headless UI libraries
• Background in travel, fintech, or enterprise SaaS products
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with Figma and design-to-code workflows
