Senior QA Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join a long-term application modernization initiative. The primary focus of this project is the migration of a legacy application to a modern technology stack, and the QA Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of the modernized application. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with automated end-to-end testing, Playwright, and manual testing, along with the ability to work closely with developers throughout the development and migration process.

This role is ideal for a QA professional who is comfortable working in a collaborative development environment, can take ownership of testing efforts, and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive automated end-to-end tests for web-based applications.
  • Build, maintain, and expand automated test frameworks using Playwright.
  • Create and execute manual test cases to validate application functionality, usability, and overall quality.
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Identify, document, troubleshoot, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to identify issues, determine root causes, and validate fixes.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality is incorporated into the development process.
  • Execute regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Maintain automated test suites as the application evolves throughout the modernization and migration effort.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation, and overall QA processes.
  • Clearly communicate testing progress, defects, risks, and potential quality concerns to the development team and project stakeholders.
  • Work within established development and QA standards and processes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support the successful delivery of the application modernization initiative.
