Terranova builds intelligent robotic systems for climate resilience, disaster recovery and defence. This Berkeley internship develops the algorithms that give those machines adaptive, intelligent behaviour.

You will design and tune controllers (PID, MPC, optimal and robust control) for dynamic nonlinear systems, build and validate physical models for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing, train and deploy machine learning models for perception, planning or adaptive control, integrate your algorithms with the firmware and cloud teams with real-time safety and stability in mind, and profile and optimise performance under latency, jitter and compute constraints.

Terranova describes it as bridging classical control with modern machine learning.

Pay: $25 to $35 per hour, plus relocation and company perks.

Term: a Fall internship running August to December depending on your school schedule.

Who it is for: students working towards a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field. US permanent residency is required. Terranova asks for evidence of being a maker, and lists LiDAR, Python and C++ with PyTorch or JAX, MPC solvers, state estimation, reinforcement learning and ROS2 as preferred.### Requirements
