Figma is hiring Software Engineer Interns for a Winter 2027 term starting January 5, 2027, based in its San Francisco or New York hub.

Interns are embedded into small engineering teams and matched to the work they are most interested in. When you apply you choose from four areas:
Product (full-stack user-facing features and growth experiments), Backend and Infrastructure (distributed systems, developer tooling, performance), Security Engineering (product security tooling, detection, secure infrastructure), or Open if you are still exploring. You work with a mentor and teammates, take part in peer code review, and ship your project by the end of the term. Past intern projects include Fig Jam diagramming improvements, smart selection and shared fonts.

Pay: $55 per hour. Figma also gives interns a housing stipend and travel reimbursement.

Who it is for:
Figma asks for experience writing clean code in at least one general-purpose language such as C++, JavaScript, Python or Java, a solid grasp of data structures and algorithms, and experience solving technical problems through school, work or personal projects. It is an added plus if you have used AI-assisted development tools to write and debug code.
