Purpose StatementExtra-curricular activities are a vital extension of the student experience. As the Freshman Cheer Coach, you will lead, inspire, and develop student-athletes by teaching cheer-specific skills while fostering positive character traits and building meaningful relationships with athletes both in and outside of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute cheer routines, practices, and performances.
- Provide individualized coaching to athletes, focusing on technique, safety, and performance.
- Lead the development of choreography, stunts, and game-day cheers.
- Promote a positive and supportive team culture.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff.
- Ensure the safety of students during rehearsals, games, and events.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Passion for coaching cheerleading and motivating students.
- Knowledge of cheer techniques, stunting, and safety regulations.
- Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to coaching.
