Scope of Job
The College of Liberal Arts is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Associate Dean for Community Engagement. The Graduate Assistant will support college-level social media and help develop social media content to promote college and departmental activities, events, and initiatives. The position also involves assisting with the creation of the college-wide newsletter. Responsibilities include researching, coordinating contributions, and connecting the content to the digital and social media platforms.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
1) Must be a full-time graduate student (9 hours during the Fall/Spring semester and 3 hours during Summer months)
2) Able to work well with diverse groups of people
3) Effective communication, verbal and writing skills for interacting with faculty, staff, students and prospective students
4) Willing to work twenty hours per week. Distribution of hours will be flexible
5) Must possess superior writing and editing skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines
6) Must pay strong attention to detail
(7) Organized and able to meet deadlines critical.
(8) Strong or Exceptional social media skills
Preferred Qualifications
1) Full Time Graduate Student – Communication Major preferred
2) Familiar with CANVA and basic video editing for social media preferred.
3) Bilingual English/Spanish with strong written skills preferred.
4)
Experience with publication writing helpful.
4) Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
5) Excellent customer service skills and multi-tasking ability in a fast paced environment
