Position: Ft. Recovery, OH
Location: Central City

Cheeseman Transport located in Fort Recovery, OH is a company specializing in LTL services across the 48-states and Canada. We are currently seeking a Dispatcher/Planner to add to our 2nd Shift (1:00pm-11:00pm)operations in Fort Recovery, OH.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

The following job duties would apply:

  • Daily Dispatching drivers on loads.
  • Monitor Automated Workflow (AWF) optimization and correct as needed.
  • Monitor driver compliance with AWF sequence.
  • Communicate with drivers to investigate and correct entries as needed.
  • Monitor Driver Performance and Productivity
  • Monitor fleet activity for on-time delivery of routine and appointment shipments and equipment utilization
  • Monitor and participate in the extra pay approval process
  • Work with various Truckmate modules, PC Miler and Peoplenet PFM.
  • Manage and process email correspondence including gMail and Kayako.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Managers to maximize fleet drivers, equipment and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor shipment appointments and driver arrival and reschedule/communicate as needed.
  • Assist in load planning and stop sequencing.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, dispatch group and other departments, email, instant message, web, EDI, phone and one-on-one.

Job Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the transportation industry with skills in written and verbal communication, interpersonal communications, supervision, decision making, strong geographical knowledge, driver relations/retention, fleet safety, customer service, spreadsheets, advanced computer ability, good time management and multitasking in a fast paced work environment, ability to follow instructions, complete the required training and work with minimal supervision.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Strong written and oral communication, teamwork and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and adapt to a constantly changing work environment
  • Detail Oriented
  • Truckmate knowledge a plus but not required.
