American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a Logistics Intern to join our team. As a Logistics Intern you will have the opportunity to apply your education, skills, and experience while gaining practical knowledge in the ACBL Logistics Department. What you will be doing – Your Impact
  • Learn ACBL Logistics best practices.
  • Provide telephonic and email support for Logistics functions.
  • Assist the Logistics Team with various tasks including:
    • Gathering and updating information for the management and dispatch of barges and boats.
    • Communicating barge placement, planning, allocation, and boat planning information to customers.
    • Documenting barge release and placement information.
    • Orchestrating port occurrences with harbor services.
    • Assisting with area forecasts for Traffic Dispatchers, Traffic Managers, and System Planners.
  • Participate in team discussions and contribute fresh ideas.
What We Are Looking For
  • HS Diploma/GED is required.
  • Ability to multi‑task and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of organizational skills and results orientation.
  • Must be dependable in attendance and meet deadlines as established.
  • Critical thinking process orientation.
  • Ability to determine priorities.
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen.
Even Better If You Have
  • Current enrollment in college coursework is preferred.
  • 0–1 year office work experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in using MS Office software is preferred.
