Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outbound Shipping Lead to oversee and manage our outbound shipping operations. As an integral part of our logistics team, you will ensure the efficient and timely processing of outbound shipments, coordinate with various departments, and maintain high standards of service. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in logistics and shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:
Supervise and mentor a team of shipping associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Schedule and allocate resources effectively to meet shipping demands and deadlines.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee all outbound shipping activities, including order picking, packing, and dispatch.
Ensure that all shipments are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and customer requirements.
Implement and maintain shipping best practices to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Coordination & Communication:
Liaise with warehouse, inventory, and customer service teams to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment.
Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to coordinate pickups and deliveries, addressing any issues that arise.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Monitor and enforce compliance with shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of shipping processes to ensure accuracy and quality.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments, including tracking information and documentation.
Generate and analyze shipping reports to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend improvements.
Problem-Solving:
Address and resolve any shipping-related issues, including discrepancies, damages, and delays.
Develop and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of outbound shipping operations.

Qualifications

Experience:
Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Background in 3PL operations or e-commerce is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
