Rear Load Driver Non-CDL

Rumpke is a family-owned and operated company in the waste and recycling industry. This role is for Residential Rear Load Drivers (Non-CDL).

RUM-Mt Sterling, Mt Sterling, KY 268 Midland Trl, Mount Sterling, KY 40353, USA

• Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers, in a safe and compliant way, by emptying trash/recycling containers into the truck and hauling to disposal site
• Routinely enter/exit the truck approximately 300-500 times per day, depending on the assigned route
• May be required to pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area
• Clean up waste spills and overflows
• Maintain and update route & driver log sheets
• Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and complete logs
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body and ensure cleanliness of truck cab
• Deliver trash or recycling containers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• This position will not manage employees

• Ability to read and understand a map
• General knowledge of truck mechanics
• Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training

• Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 75 lbs
• Continuously pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
• Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
• Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
• Frequent stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• Frequent climbing and/or balancing
• Frequent sitting/standing/walking

• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to hire
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
• Must not have any DUI/OVI within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste
• Ability to travel between offices, as required
• Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• Must be able to read and speak the English language
