** JOB SUMMARY
** Belgravia Center is a residential reentry program dedicated to supporting justice-involved individuals as they successfully transition from incarceration back into the community. Serving both AB109 and Long-Term Offender Reentry (LTOR) participants, the program works in close partnership with the Fresno County Probation Department, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), and a network of community-based service providers to promote stability, accountability, and long-term success.
As a co-ed residential facility, Belgravia Center provides safe and structured housing for up to 75 residents. Through comprehensive case management, employment support, life skills development, community resource linkage, and individualized reentry planning, residents are equipped with the tools and support necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and successful reintegration. By fostering a safe, supportive, and recovery-oriented environment, Belgravia Center helps residents build the foundation for long-term housing stability, employment success, and productive community living.
The Transportation Specialist reports directly to the Assistant Program Director and is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation services to residents of Belgravia Center. This position plays a critical role in supporting participants’ successful reentry and program engagement by ensuring consistent access to employment opportunities, volunteer placements, educational programs, community resources, medical and behavioral health appointments, court appearances, and other approved destinations.
In addition to transportation duties, the Transportation Specialist serves as a positive representative of the program, fostering a supportive and professional environment during participant interactions. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism while adhering to all agency policies, program requirements, and transportation regulations. The Transportation Specialist contributes to residents’ progress toward self-sufficiency and stability by helping remove transportation barriers and promoting consistent participation in services and activities essential to their successful reintegration into the community.
** ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
** 1. Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to all agency transportation policies, procedures, and requirements outlined in the Agency Driver Handbook, including vehicle operation, safety protocols, defensive driving practices, reporting requirements, and passenger transportation standards.
2. Safely operate agency vehicles in accordance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws, facility regulations, agency policies, and established transportation procedures to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and the community.
3. Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for residents to and from approved destinations, including employment, educational programs, volunteer assignments, medical and behavioral health appointments, court appearances, community resources, treatment services, and other authorized activities.
4. Maintain accurate and timely transportation documentation, including trip logs, mileage records, vehicle usage reports, resident sign-in/sign-out records, and incident reports in accordance with agency standards.
5. Conduct required pre-trip, post-trip, and monthly vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are safe, clean, and operating properly. Promptly report maintenance concerns, accidents, damage, safety hazards, or mechanical issues through established procedures.
6. Coordinate transportation schedules with program staff and residents to effectively prioritize transportation needs, maximize efficiency, and support participant engagement in required programming and services.
