Salary: $68,000 - $85,000 annually (based on experience)
Shift: Monday
- Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM
Rotational Safey Line on-call required
Must be able to adjust regular hours accordingly to meet business needs and department goals and objectives.
Job PurposeThe Regional Safety Specialist supports Page Trucking’s transportation and workplace safety programs within an assigned region. This position serves as the primary field safety resource for drivers, terminal leaders, and company employees.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesRegional Safety Support
- Implement and ensure compliance with company safety programs, policies, and procedures throughout the assigned region.
- Serve as the primary field safety contact for assigned drivers, terminals, and managers.
- Visit terminals, maintenance facilities, customer locations, and other work sites.
- Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and operational risks.
- Track coaching, training, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Report significant incidents, unresolved concerns, and safety trends to the Safety Director.
- Support company wide safety programs and special projects.
DOT and FMCSA Compliance Support
- Support compliance with applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.
- Review roadside inspections, violations, citations, warnings, and out-of-service conditions.
- Collect required documents from drivers and managers.
- Coordinate follow-up with Operations, Maintenance, Compliance, and terminal leadership.
- Verify that corrective actions are completed and the full scope of Operation Zero compliance in assigned region.
- Identify regional recurring compliance trends and provide targeted coaching and administer recommended safety awareness and remedial training.
- Assist with audits, regulatory reviews, and corrective-action plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready records.
- Escalate significant or unresolved compliance and safety concerns.
Safety Training and Communication
- Deliver and document assigned safety training.
- Coordinate training schedules with terminal leadership and company training resources.
- Provide individual and group training on topics such as:
- Defensive driving
- Hours of service
- Cargo securement
- Equipment operation
- Distracted-driving prevention
- Backing and maneuvering
- Seat-belt use
- Speed management
- Roadside inspection readiness
- Accident and injury reporting
- Hazard recognition
- Personal protective equipment
- Customer and company safety requirements
- Lead or support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Driver Safety Committee activities.
- Track attendance, acknowledgments, test results, and training completion within the assigned region.
- Report on overdue or incomplete training.
- Use approved company training materials and provide recommendations for improvement.
Driver Observation and Coaching
- Review driver safety information, including telematics, camera events, accidents, inspections, citations, hours-of-service concerns, and policy violations.
- Conduct approved ride-alongs, field observations, and driver evaluations.
- Provide timely, professional, fair, and objective coaching.
- Reinforce safe-driving practices and company expectations.
- Identify drivers who may need additional training, monitoring, counseling, or management review.
- Maintain accurate coaching and observation records.
- Track assigned driver interventions and remedial training.
- Communicate significant concerns to authorized leaders.
- Escalate and coordinate with Safety Director and Operations when production expectations conflict with safe operating requirements.
- Avoid unsupported conclusions when information is inaccurate or incomplete.
