the work you will do:

d7 transportation intern.

the d7 transportation intern will:

  • assist in reviewing and updating the state’s bridge replacement priorities list.
  • assist in quality assurance reviews of bridge inspection reports and bridge load ratings.
  • assist with the creation of a hurricane resiliency plan for state bridges and causeways in tampa bay in preparation for future major hurricanes or storms.
  • assist manager and emergency response design consultant in preparation of inspection reports, field reviews, and plans for emergency repairs done by state forces.
  • review state bridge inventory and assist manager with development of 5-year work program for future bridge repair and rehabilitation projects.
  • assist with review of design contract documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates for bridge repair and rehabilitation projects and asset maintenance work activities. Assist in analyzing existing bridge structures for design repair projects and establishing methods and techniques for the repair.
  • conduct site visits to bridge construction and repair projects.
  • conduct site visits to movable drawbridges to review for future safety improvements.
  • perform other duties as assigned.

Actively participate in team projects, contribute to agency goals, and assist in driving change within the organization.
