Job Title:
Onboarding Specialist
Location: Georgetown KY
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay: $20.00 per hour
What You Will Do:- Conduct safety orientation for newly hired drivers
- Ensure all pre-employment paperwork, licenses, medical certifications, and required documents are completed
- Review new-hire documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Help new drivers understand Client safety policies, expectations, and procedures
- Coordinate with Recruiting, Safety, and Operations to ensure a smooth transition from applicant to active driver
- Conduct road tests for new drivers and document results
- Provide hands-on training on proper pre-trip and post-trip inspection procedures
- Train drivers on proper equipment connection and disconnection procedures
- Reinforce safe driving practices and company safety expectations
- Document completed training and maintain training records
- Identify drivers who may need additional training
- Maintain accurate Driver Qualification (DQ) files and records
- Track upcoming driver license, medical certification, and qualification expirations
- Communicate qualification concerns and expiration dates to Dispatch and management
- Work with Safety to prevent drivers from operating when required qualifications or documentation are expired or incomplete
- Follow up with drivers to obtain updated documentation before expiration
- Manage and coordinate the Client Driver Mentor Program
- Review driver experience, qualifications and other required information to determine wither applicant meets clients hiring standards.
- Communicate potential qualification concerns to Recruiting team before candidates move forward with hiring process.
- Assign qualified mentors and track mentor activities and required documentation
- Assist Recruiting with pre-qualification of driver applicants
- Help ensure candidates understand licensing, certification, documentation, and safety expectations
- Must be at least 18 years of age or over
- Must comply with the client’s substance abuse and background policy
- Must have High school Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge of commercial motor vehicle safety practices and DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements preferred
- CDL and commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to conduct driver road tests and hands-on equipment training
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with drivers, Recruiting, Dispatch, Safety, and Operations
- Comfortable providing instruction, coaching, and corrective feedback to drivers
- Ability to manage multiple new hires, qualification deadlines, and training requirements simultaneously
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation/safety management systems preferred
