Job Summary:

The City of Ellsworth is currently accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver/Laborer to join our Public Works team. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-minded individual to assist in maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure throughout the year. Primary responsibilities include winter snowplowing
, summer road maintenance
, and assisting with general public works projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate trucks and related vehicles for transporting materials and performing City maintenance work.
• Perform winter snowplowing and sanding on roads, sidewalks, and City properties—often during early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Assist with summer roadwork
  , including patching, ditching, sweeping, and storm drain maintenance.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as raking, shoveling, brush clearing, and basic construction or repair duties.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.
• Follow all City safety protocols and Public Works operational procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no infractions or violations

• CDL positions are subject to a pre-employment drug screening in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• A high school diploma or equivalent
  .

Salary:
