** JOB SUMMARY
** Support the transportation department by coordinating logistics, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient communication between internal teams and external partners.
** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Maintain truck, barge and vessel freight bill processing
* Create truck, railcar, barge and vessel freight documentation
* Schedule claims, tracing and billing
* Track fuel surcharge
* Set up new carrier forms
* Report to fleet
* File both electronic and physical paperwork
* Aid with maintaining logistics planning tasks.
* Track shipments across multiple channels
* Performs other tasks, duties or assignments as may be assigned by manager from time to time.
* Analyzes markets and identifies changes within the freight industry to optimize lane capacity, margins.
* Market opportunities for the company.
* Negotiates pricing with carriers.
* Responsible for carrier development to broker more efficient loads.
* Works collaboratively with billing team to address concerns to ensure proper customer invoicing.
* Communicates effectively with internal departments regarding capacity and back-haul coverage.
* Manages and monitors multiple systems to ensure adequate supply of capacity, on-time performance and problem resolution challenges are addressed and communicated timely.
* Assesses customer and carrier performance and provides feedback to management team.
* Continuously improves service levels through ongoing recommendations for process improvements.## Qualifications

** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
**** While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.  

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
**** WORK ENVIRONMENT
**** While performing the duties of the job, the employee is generally working in an office setting.  However, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat at times.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; elevated noise levels and vibration. Employee must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
