As a Local Truck Driver within the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of raw materials and finished goods between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers. Your primary objective will be to maintain an efficient and reliable delivery schedule that supports production timelines and customer satisfaction. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance with transportation regulations, and the ability to navigate local routes effectively.

You will be responsible for inspecting your vehicle, securing cargo properly, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Ultimately, your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation of the manufacturing supply chain and the overall success of the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
• Experience driving trucks in a local delivery environment, preferably within the manufacturing or logistics sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating flatbed or specialized trucks used in manufacturing logistics.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations related to transportation and workplace safety.
• Customer service experience to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
• Additional certifications such as hazardous materials (HAZMAT) endorsement or forklift operation.

Responsibilities:

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and products within a designated local area, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring that all items are secured to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during routes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and management to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
