Yardman

Drives company truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations.

Loads, unloads and moves materials in yard and on job site; handles paperwork with customers; assists customers and stocks merchandise in yard; inventories, stores, prices, loads, and restocks merchandise in yard by performing the following duties; must deal directly with customers.

Drives truck to destination; loads and unloads truck; inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water; positions blocks and ties around items to secure cargo during transit.

Reads tickets or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved/loaded; opens containers; loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand; loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit; cuts lumber, screening, glass, and related materials to size requested by customer; assists customer to load purchased materials into customer's vehicle;

straightens materials to maintain safe and orderly conditions; covers exposed materials to prevent weather damage; takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be replenished; receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received; stocks storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise; sweeps and cleans areas.

Experience:

Must have at least one year experience in driving company trucks. Must be available on weekends.
