JOB SUMMARY

Employee must be at least 25 years of age, must be a High School graduate or have obtained a GED. Some experience working in an automotive-related field is preferred; must be able to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues, be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of basic tools. Must be able to perform and instruct others on basic maintenance and repairs. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, be able to use email and enter information into a database.

Must have good communication skills and work well with staff and various business personnel throughout the service area. Must have the ability to work with the Fleet Manager and make recommendations for repairs and manage the preventive maintenance and rotation of vehicles throughout the service area so that fleet operations are not interrupted. Must have excellent organizational skills; have good problem-solving skills;

have good customer service skills and relate well to all levels of staff. Must have the ability to train others in a variety of topics; must have Class C driver license and a good driving record. Employee will be trained as a passenger driver for instances in which a backup driver is needed to meet essential transportation requests. The Assistant Fleet Manager will work closely with the Fleet/Operations Manager to carry out a comprehensive fleet maintenance plan for the transportation program; attend required training; inspect and accept new vehicles; assist with license, registration and arranging for exterior graphics; compile and complete program reports as required; enter invoices into fleet software; assist with projects that contribute to driver safety and efficiency;

oversee maintenance of surveillance cameras; monitor compliance with all warranty issues and manufacturer recall actions.

TASKS AND DUTIES (Essential Functions):

Assist with carrying out the fleet maintenance plan.

Attend required training.

Drive vehicles throughout the services areas for repairs, maintenance and fleet rotation.

Inspect and accept new vehicles; assist with license, registration and arranging for exterior graphics.

Compile and complete program reports as required.

Enter invoices into Fleet Manager Software.

Assist with projects that contribute to driver safety and efficiency.

Assist in the oversight of maintenance and repair of vehicle MDC’s and surveillance cameras.

Ensure compliance with all warranty issues and manufacturer recall actions.

Attendance at work is mandatory.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Mandatory for hiring):

Be at least 25 years of age.

Be a high school graduate or have a GED.

Have a minimum of two years’ experience working in an automotive-related field

Be able to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues, be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of basic tools, have the ability to refer the vehicle to appropriate vendor and to manage the preventive maintenance, repairs and rotation of vehicles throughout the service area, as directed by the fleet manager, so that fleet operations are not interrupted.

Have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Have good customer service skills and be able to relate well to all people.

Have a Class C Driver License, a good driving record and ability to drive various vehicles throughout the service area as needed for the rotation of fleet vehicles.

Have basic computer skills.
