CDL Class A Part-Time​/Fill-In Driver

Explore part-time and fill-in Fed Ex linehaul driving with Steel Anchor Inc.

Valid Class A CDL with doubles endorsement.

Current DOT medical card (medical examiner’s certificate).

At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or at least 5 years in the last 10.

Safe linehaul driving:
Transport freight safely between Fed Ex facilities, following traffic laws and company safety procedures.

DOT hours of service Motive:
Comply with applicable DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service rules. Keep accurate duty-status records and review and certify your logs in the Motive ELD app.

Vehicle inspections:
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, complete required inspection reports, and promptly report equipment defects.

Trailer connections:
Safely couple and uncouple trailers and doubles as assigned. Check connections, air lines, lights and brakes before departure.

Dispatch communication:
Confirm assignments with dispatch and communicate delays, road conditions, availability and remaining legal driving hours.

Trip records:
Verify trailer numbers and seals, and complete required trip, mileage and fuel documentation accurately.

Safety and professionalism:
Promptly report incidents, breakdowns and unsafe conditions. Keep equipment orderly and work respectfully with dispatch, terminal staff and other drivers.
