Shift
: 12PM – 9PM

The PM Operations Manager leads safe, accurate, and efficient execution across Portland #950 during the afternoon and evening shift. This role owns end-of-day service performance, labor planning, order completion, loading readiness, shift handoff, and the development of supervisors and associates. Success requires visible warehouse leadership, data-driven decision-making, strong cross-shift communication, and consistent accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.

What You Will Do
  • Lead PM warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, packing, staging, loading, wire room, inventory movement, and coordination with supporting operational areas.
  • Own end-of-day execution by monitoring order queues, carrier and delivery cutoffs, workload, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure service-level agreements are achieved.
  • Adjust labor plans throughout the shift based on volume, priorities, attendance, equipment availability, and operational constraints.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for up to six direct-report managers and supervisors and their teams.
  • Develop supervisors and associates through regular performance discussions, documented coaching, training plans, succession planning, and timely recognition.
  • Monitor and improve safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization, inventory accuracy, and on-time completion using defined KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting.
  • Lead daily shift huddles and maintain a clear handoff with day-shift leaders, transportation, sales, and other partners, including unresolved risks, service issues, and follow-up actions.
  • Respond to operational disruptions, customer-impacting issues, staffing gaps, equipment concerns, and safety events; elevate appropriately and document root causes and corrective actions.
  • Implement Lean practices and lead continuous-improvement work that reduces waste, improves material flow, strengthens standard work, and delivers sustainable results.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and retain associates while maintaining appropriate coverage and skill depth across assigned functions.
  • Administer company policies, safety programs, required training, and applicable regulatory requirements consistently.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and ensure teams take ownership of housekeeping and equipment standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
What You Will Bring
  • Three or more years of leadership experience in distribution, warehouse operations, logistics, transportation, production, or a comparable business-to-business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supervisors or teams, set expectations, coach performance, resolve conflict, and deliver results through others.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, labor planning, inventory control, order fulfillment, and service-level management.
  • Strong planning, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond calmly to changing priorities.
  • Ability to use operational data to forecast workload, adjust staffing, identify root causes, and communicate performance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and operational reporting tools; ability to learn warehouse management and cloud-based systems.
