Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses.
- Select appropriate materials and components based on functional requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and product improvements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to resolve design‑related issues.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including BOMs and specifications.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, materials science, and stress analysis.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering drawings.
- Proven problem‑solving skills with a focus on optimizing designs for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for design automation or data analysis.
