Buyer - Kentwood Area

Salary Range: $62,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
• Generate and manage purchase orders for required manufacturing materials and services.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess stock.
• Implement cost reduction strategies and identify opportunities for savings in procurement.
• Resolve supply chain issues, including delivery delays, quality discrepancies, and invoice problems.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply chain continuity and performance.

• Direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain principles.
• Proven ability to identify and implement cost reduction strategies.

• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPSM).Experience applying Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency with advanced data analytics and visualization tools.
