A leading manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer Support Specialist to support purchasing and inventory operations. This contract position will assist with purchasing activities, inventory analysis, supplier coordination, and maintaining accurate procurement data. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Support purchasing activities by processing orders, maintaining accurate pricing and purchasing records, and coordinating with approved suppliers.
- Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and purchasing data to support appropriate stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Utilize Excel to maintain procurement reports, forecasts, cost analyses, and other purchasing-related data.
- Monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance and communicate potential issues to the appropriate teams.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, engineering, warehouse, and other teams to align purchasing activity with production and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory transactions within the company's ERP system.
- Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and other purchasing or supply chain projects.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Location: West Michigan
- Compensation: $20–$26 per hour

- Two or more years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Experience working with an ERP system;
Prophet 21 experience preferred. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial distribution, or a related environment preferred.
