Responsibilities
  • Recruit foster families who have the ability and desire to provide foster care
  • Establish and maintain positive community contacts including but not limited to schools, community organizations, faith-based organizations, service groups and other resources as deemed appropriate.
  • Utilize a multi-systemic approach to recruit foster families including presentations to the community, participation in community events, and collaboration with the marketing team to ensure that Wellspring has a strong media presence related to foster care.
  • Coordinate publicity for recruitment by sharing existing materials, requesting needed advertisements or publication.
  • Establish and maintain visible working relationships with church pastors/leaders.
  • Coordinate collaborative efforts with referral sources.
  • Evaluate issues of recruitment, retention and advocacy of resource families.
  • Serve as the point of contact for prospective foster families.
  • Deliver training as needed to staff, families, and the community.
  • Create, implement, and maintain an effective plan to recruit new foster families that specifies the tasks required, time frames, and individual responsibilities.
  • Monitor and maintain a sufficient supply of recruitment materials.
  • Receive, record, and assure a timely personalized response to all potential foster parents who contact the agency.
  • Create, implement, and maintain an annual training schedule for foster parent applicants and licensed foster parents in accordance with agency and state licensing regulations.
  • Be able to meet the needs of families by providing foster parent orientation frequently at times convenient for the inquirer.
  • Meet the agency’s share of responsibility to any inter-agency training, recruitment, or retention coalitions or collaborative organizations.
  • Participate in team meetings and/or individual supervision to review recruitment progress and ongoing plans for recruitment efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Majors preferred: marketing, communications, etc.
  • Experience with in foster care is preferred
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable vehicle, vehicle registration and auto insurance (required)
  • Reliable, compassionate and committed to high-quality service
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting, supporting multiple children and families simultaneously and responding effectively to unexpected changes or urgent needs.
Schedule and Compensation
  • Employment Type:

    Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Schedule:

    Day Shift, with evening/weekend availability for community events
  • Salary: $41,500 + per year, based off experience
  • On-Call:
    Participation in team on-call rotation
  • Work Environment:
    Office-based / Hybrid with flexible scheduling
  • Travel:
    Community travel required; mileage reimbursement provided.
