Job Overview

Step Into the Front Line of Compressor Innovation. As a Technical Support Engineer, you’ll be the go‑to mechanical authority behind our air systems solving complex issues, elevating performance, and keeping customers running at full strength. This role is built for those with true hands‑on mechanical experience – not just theory – and a deep understanding of how industrial machines are built, how they fail, and how to fix them.

You’ll be the backbone of our mechanical service group, partnering with field providers, diagnosing challenging issues, and delivering the technical guidance that drives uptime and trust. Beyond support, you’ll help shape the future through contributions to product design, field testing, and real‑world implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Acquire subject‑matter expertise in assigned air products and maintain expertise, representing training and technical support on new product development teams.
  • Provide technical support for field support organizations (IRCCs and Distribution) and directly to customers as required via phone, email, and site visits.
  • Support contact‑management capability for interaction with channel field technicians to resolve complex product and system issues impacting customers.
  • Provide problem solving in a technical support role and submit repetitive quality/reliability issues into QRMS.
  • Compile technical bulletins, fault trees, and troubleshooting guides to ensure field personnel have access to the latest updates and reference data.
  • Contribute to the Knowledge Base to improve field connectivity and effective troubleshooting through all modes of multimedia.
  • Communicate with peers, engineers, operations, and management to understand product specifications and root causes of issues.
  • Mentor Product Support team members by enhancing professional and technical skills, and authoring and deploying global multimedia technical solutions.
  • Participate in the activities of global expertise network leaders to drive technical excellence.
  • Execute direct knowledge‑management initiatives; improve technician effectiveness with faster access to solutions and the knowledge base.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 5+ years of experience in a mechanical/industrial work environment.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.

Preferences
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience working on air compressors.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Onsite in Quincy, IL.
  • Occasional delivery of air product technical training to customer centers, distributors, and customers.
  • Perform setup/teardown/storage, troubleshooting, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
  • Travel is less than 10%.
