About the Position
Our client in North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Critical Care Physician for a 7-day assignment starting Nov 25, 2026. This role involves a schedule of 7a to 5p with call responsibilities, focusing on critical care cases such as sepsis, ARDS, and multi-organ failure. The physician will perform a range of procedures including endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and bedside ultrasound, without supervision of advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide comprehensive care for MICU cases including Sepsis/Septic Shock, ARDS/Acute Respiratory Failure, COVID/Viral Pneumonia, Multi-organ Failure, and DKA/Metabolic Emergencies.
Manage Surgical ICU cases such as Post-operative General Surgery and Massive Transfusion Protocol.
Perform Endotracheal Intubation, Central Line Placement, and Arterial Line Placement.
Conduct Pulmonary Artery Catheter (Swan-Ganz) Placement/Management and Chest Tube Insertion.
Utilize Bedside Ultrasound (Cardiac, Lung, FAST), Paracentesis, and Thoracentesis.
Execute Lumbar Puncture for Neuro ICU patients.
Manage Temporary Pacing Wire Insertion/Management for Cardiothoracic/Cardiac ICU.
No supervision of advanced practice providers is required.
