We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Kernersville, North Carolina office.

Salary range:

$95,000 – 185,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

BRIDGE ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for management, scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects and project portfolio.
  • Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
  • Assists in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
  • Guides and coordinates internal LJB transportation disciplines with sub‑consultants and clients.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Possesses an understanding of all transportation disciplines and requirements as related to bridge design projects.
  • Responsible for assisting Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.
  • On larger projects, may or may not be involved directly in the design.
  • Apprise Operations Management of employee performance on projects.
  • Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects so they can manage staffing.
  • Assist in informal development of other employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
BRIDGE ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • P.E. license
  • At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
  • Experience working with DOTs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus.
  • Project team leadership experience.
  • Project and client management experience.
  • Micro Station, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil‑3D software experience.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
