Position Overview

The Nursing Home Administrator directs the day-to-day operations of the facility in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. In partnership with the Area Vice President and clinical leaders, this role ensures that our residents receive the highest quality of long‑term, rehabilitative, and supportive care in a safe and compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expert knowledge of state and federal laws governing nursing facility operations, licensing, and payment programs
  • Lead strategic planning and ensure the facility meets operational, financial, and quality objectives
  • Develop and implement administrative policies aligned with the facility’s mission, philosophy, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure excellence in resident care
    , promoting dignity, rights, individuality, and overall well‑being
  • Provide strong financial leadership, including budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic forecasting
  • Represent the center professionally with community partners, advocacy groups, government agencies, and the public
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission‑driven work culture
  • Uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with all ethical and professional standards
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and regulatory agencies in an interdisciplinary care setting

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field (required)
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory leadership experience in a hospital or long‑term care facility
    • Strong working knowledge of long‑term care regulations including the Federal Register, Requirements of Participation, and state/federal guidelines
  • Licensure
    • Must hold an active Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in the state of North Carolina

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related fields is required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
:
As a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long‑term care Nursing Center. Should possess a working knowledge of long‑term care operational standards set forth in the Federal Register, Requirements of Participation and state or federal regulations

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW
:
Must be Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state in which the facility is located

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in related field preferred
