What You Will Do
We’re hiring a Master Planner to oversee production scheduling and materials control at our manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Production Control Manager
, this role is critical to ensuring smooth operations, timely shipments, and efficient use of resources. The Master Planner will lead union personnel, drive safe and quality-focused behaviors, and maintain alignment with plant KPIs and shop floor objectives.
The Production Control team manages the heartbeat of the plant—ensuring that materials, schedules, and people are aligned to meet customer demand. Reporting directly to the Production Control Manager
, this group plays a vital role in balancing inventory, production schedules, and vendor relationships. Their work ensures that the plant operates efficiently, safely, and profitably, making them central to the company’s ability to deliver high-quality products on time.
- Develop and maintain inventory parameters for batteries and components, ensuring supply meets demand.
- Establish and manage daily production schedules to meet shipping commitments and inventory requirements.
- Supervise and train union personnel, ensuring safety, quality, and operational targets are consistently achieved.
- Drive performance metrics (daily, weekly, monthly) to meet budgetary and operational goals.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve issues, elevate challenges, and maintain strong communication.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to enhance efficiency and engage direct reports in improvement initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities focused on operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to lead and manage personnel in a manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and processes.
- Track record of improving supply chain and production scheduling systems.
- APICS certification or equivalent.
