Position Summary:
The Electrical Helper supports licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and light commercial electrical systems. This role assists with job site preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and basic electrical tasks while learning the electrical trade in a fast-paced service environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, eager to learn, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Assist electricians with installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and Assist electricians with installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.
- Help with running wire, installing outlets, switches, fixtures, and other electrical equipment.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow company safety standards and procedures at all times.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely and appropriately.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues under the direction of a licensed electrician.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Accurately document work performed and materials used, as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation or overtime work as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn the electrical trade.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and job site environments.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Previous construction, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with basic electrical safety practices and tools.
- Trade school coursework or electrical apprenticeship experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–2 years of electrical, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. consistently.
- Ability to squat, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
