The Receptionist is an Administrative Support Professional who serves an essential role in the organization’s mission to provide person‑centered, short‑term inpatient psychiatric treatment services for people in crisis. Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Care at one of the Crisis Residential Facilities, the Receptionist works with all staff and providers, as well as crisis workers, law enforcement, community hospital staff, patients, and families/visitors/vendors.
The Receptionist is the first point of contact when entering the facility, so a friendly demeanor is a must, along with excellent customer service skills. The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no closures for holidays. Ability to work a set schedule consisting of evenings, weekends, and some holidays is required.

You will get to:
- Maintain the front area of the building, both lobby areas and reception areas, to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Maintain bulletin boards with current legal postings, licenses, staff information, etc.
- Greet all visitors entering the building, screening and maintaining the sign‑in/out log of all visitors for patients during visiting hours
- Answer phone calls, assist callers, and take messages. Handle all incoming and outgoing mail, pharmacy deliveries, and other package drop‑offs/pick‑ups
- Sign vehicles in and out as needed for patient transportation and staff use, ensure mileage logs and receipts are completed upon return of the vehicle
- Complete data entry and/or scanning of documents into the electronic referral system and/or Electronic Health Record as needed
- Complete filing into medical record/chart, closing out chart upon discharge, and maintaining back files of patient records
- Maintain and distribute the daily census of patients
- Assist in distributing discharge documentation to clinic and courthouse staff as needed
- Contact the maintenance department or outside entities for repairs to the building, Xerox machines, phone lines, etc., when requested
- Provide backup to other administrative staff during their absence as needed
You'll definitely need:
- Two years of experience in duties related to the position
- Maintain a valid Texas state Driver’s License and auto insurance.
- Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within the first 3 months of employment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
