SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Schreiner University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Graduate Assistant to join the Student Affairs Department to work directly in the Student Activities Office. This position is designed for a graduate student who will assist in all areas of Student Activities to provide a holistic experience for the graduate student. Areas include but are not limited to, Student Activity Board, Greek Life, Student Government Association, Registered Student Organizations, and general Student Engagement.

The Graduate Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the student experience through the development and implementation of programs and services that promote student involvement and community.

Graduate students will have the ability to practice professional skills within the area of Student Activities by engaging in program development and planning, administrative support, student mentoring, and day to day interactions with students and professionals to implement initiatives that support the mission and vision of the university.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Within the area of Student Activities, position will support student leadership initiatives and high-impact programming at Schreiner University though:

* Assisting with the planning, promoting, and execution of Student Activities events, programs, activities, and initiatives, this position will practice Team Leadership and Development, specifically through: (Event Planning & Campus Engagement)

* Assist with guidance of planning, promoting, and executing Student Activities events

* Collaborating on university-wide initiatives (e.g., Welcome Week, Recall Weekend)

* Assisting with the development and support of recognized student organizations. (Communication, Problem Solving and Advising)

* Serve as an additional point of contact for student organization leaders

* Help monitor organization compliance and activity tracking

* Assisting with the development and implementation of programs that foster community and student engagement. (Team Management & Strategic Operations)

* Contribute to the strategic transformation of the Cailloux Campus Activity Center into a vibrant Student Center

* Supervising Game Lounge staff schedules and program operation performance

* Assisting with the development and implementation of initiatives that promote student involvement and leadership. (Leadership Development & Support)

* Work with Director to facilitating workshops and leadership trainings

* C0-Coordinating the Leadership Coin initiative and tracking engagement

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

* Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Schreiner University.

* Strong organizational and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Availability to work nights and weekends.

* Event planning and management

* Leadership and mentoring

* Conflict resolution

* Program evaluation and assessment.

* Marketing and promotion
