What You Will DoThe Patient Access Specialist Level I is primarily responsible for completing an efficient and organized registration, admission and insurance verification of all inpatients and outpatients. They determine patient financial responsibility, make appropriate financial arrangements with patients per hospital policy, and work in a fast‑paced professional environment. Excellent customer service skills are crucial in this role, as the specialist must ensure that accurate information is collected, maintain confidentiality of this information, and make patients aware of their rights as determined by HIPAA regulations and hospital policy.
PreferredEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer keyboarding, medical terminology
- Meditech, Microsoft Office
- At least 6 months of previous customer service experience
- At least 6 months of previous customer service experience in an office/medical office environment
