Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Kerrville, TX location. It is a full‑time Monday‑Friday role (8:30 am‑5 pm) with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
