MPU Sew Shop Fabricator

The Blanket Fabricator / Installer is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing removable insulation blankets on piping, valves, flanges, vessels, and related mechanical systems.

• Ensure proper insulation coverage to reduce noise, prevent condensation, and protect against heat loss.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for proper fitment.
• Measure, cut, and sew/assemble custom insulation blankets using industrial materials like fiberglass and silicone-coated fabrics.
• Inspect finished blankets for correct dimensions and ensure proper labeling before shipping or installation

• Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
  • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
  • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
  • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of industrial insulation materials, removable blanket systems, and fabrication techniques.
• Understanding of basic mechanical systems, piping configurations, and equipment components.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to plan and organize workload.
• Strong measuring, layout, and cutting skills with attention to detail.
• Basic sewing and fabrication skills using industrial sewing machines and hand tools.
• Ability to maintain quality workmanship under schedule demands.
