Practice Highlights
* Provides direct clinical services and management of mothers and babies as defined in the standing orders, policies, procedures and protocols for the certified nurse midwife.
* Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations. Document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
* Perform approved therapeutic procedures based upon patient's clinical status. Document patient preparation and response to procedure(s).
* Collaborate with physician and nursing colleagues and document in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries.
* Educator Assess educational needs, plan, provide, and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff, interdisciplinary healthcare team, and community.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Peace Health has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by Peace Health Medical Group-Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).
* Guaranteed first-year income, based on a 1.0 FTE and years of direct experience (0-3, 3-5, 5-9, 10+)
* Employment Bonus
* Relocation stipend based on miles between locations
* Education Loan Reimbursement program (if applicable and eligible)
* CME: up to $3,800 per calendar year for CME and/or professional dues/fees (based on 1.0 FTE; prorated for lower FTE)
