American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring an active AK RN license and AWHONN Intermediate certification.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Every team member works an equitable number of weekend shifts per schedule period
- Floating required 0-3 times per month within OB as helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Requires charting system experience (any EMR)
- Active AK RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with L&D or LDRP experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Fetal monitoring certification through AWHONN, Relias, or Gnosis accepted for EFM competency
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment
- Experience with antepartum care procedures including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
- Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration
- Epic experience preferred (1 year)
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Provide direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs while documenting according to established standards
- Direct and delegate care to other team members based on education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including patients and families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain hospital policies and procedures
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
