Hospital Lab Supervisor - Ketchikan, AK
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay range: $84,040+ per year. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

- Oversee staff and activities of the department
- Distribute/assign work
- Determine priorities
- Schedule non‑routine procedures
- Perform personnel related functions (hiring, terminations, discipline, training, etc.)
- Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques
- Duplicate work of others to confirm test results if needed
- Re‑evaluate methodology, make recommended changes and assist in test interpretation
- Determine if further testing should be done on samples or if test should be repeated
- Check/approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy
- Initiate quality‑control measures and monitor quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards
- Perform duties of technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload
- Complete special projects as requested, e.g., surveys, statistical reports, studies, research, etc.
Required Work Experience
: 5+ years in a laboratory environment.
Physical And Mental Requirements
:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Knowledge
:
Knowledge of the general laboratory services and testing requirements.
- Ability to work with hospital and laboratory personnel to meet clinical testing standards
- Ability to lead subordinate staff in performing their duties
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with physicians, hospital and company leadership, staff and customers
- Ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a very dynamic team environment
- Strong client interaction skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree MT (Preferred)
