POSITION DESCRIPTION

(NON-EXEMPT)

POSITION TITLE: Truck Loader

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

REPORTS TO:

Warehouse Manager

POSITION SUPERVISED:

POSITION

PURPOSE:

Building of bulk pallets and loading of trailers.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Required to work within well-defined guidelines and procedures. This position requires an understanding of warehouse and loading operations as well as the ability to cooperate with and assist others. Failure to adhere to Company standards and procedures can result in loading inefficiencies and increased costs.

Assumes responsibility for performing effective and efficient bulk loading operations.

  • Creates and builds bulk and side loader loads. Picks products accurately using drivers load sheets and/or computer generated pick sheets. Builds, shrink wraps and identifies each pallet before loading onto delivery truck. Operates a forklift according to company and OSHA standards.
  • Ensures that pallets are efficiently constructed and that trailers are filled to 100% capacity
  • Keeps bulk area properly stocked
  • Assumes responsibility for safe and clean warehouse operations.

    Ensures that loading operations are conducted in accordance with established safety standards.
  • Cleans and maintains work area. Keeps area and machinery free of clutter.

Assists area personnel as needed.

  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Completes required records, reports, and related documents.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

  • Bulk loading operations are effective and efficient as measured by cases per man-hour reports and with few problems and minimal delay. Loading problems are promptly identified and resolved.
  • Bulk loading operations are conducted in accordance with established Company standards and procedures.
  • Established safety standards are met or exceeded.
  • Supervisors are adequately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Work areas and equipment are clean and well-maintained.
  • Bulk loaders are efficient and well-coordinated and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Training/

Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate
  • Fork Lift Certification(we will train to acquire forklift certification)

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of loading and general warehouse operations

Experience

Required:

  • Warehouse and forklift experience required.(we will train to acquire forklift certification)

Skills/Abilities:

  • The ability to operate a forklift.
  • Works and cooperates well with others.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/kneel bend and reach.
  • The employee will be on feet for multiple hours, moving, bending, lifting, stacking, un-stacking, squatting, and stretching in display of product.
  • The employee must lift, push, pull, carry and/or move from 10 to 50 pounds frequently for several hours at a time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
