The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and work spaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime, boosting the availability and quality of our equipment and enhancing the operational environment.

• Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
• Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
• Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
• Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
• Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
• Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites

Our RME Technicians are based on-site, allowing quick responses to any machinery issues. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is working safely, respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate, find and implement solutions quickly, and suggest long‑term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks and liaise with contractors as needed. Shift work ensures our sites are supported around the clock.

Our RME team keeps equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded group of team players guided by experienced leaders, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general maintenance, we handle most aspects of Amazon’s technical side, keeping buildings legally compliant and sites operating at maximum efficiency.

There are plenty of opportunities for progression within the RME team and across Amazon. Everything focuses on reducing downtime so customers receive orders on time, often working early or late hours, including night shifts. Improvements may involve new processes or cutting‑edge tech such as Amazon Robotics or the Complex Item Sorter.

• High school or equivalent diploma
• NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 / IVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 / EAL Level 3 specialized in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
• Experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
• Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
• Serve a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
• Work a flexible schedule / shift / work area, including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing

• Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical
• Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards according to OEM and safety standards
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
